Parents as Partners

Play People acknowledges you as your child's primary carer and educator and we aim to work together with you to form a rewarding partnership.

It is widely believed that children benefit most when there is a trusting and mutually supportive partnership between staff and parents. When parents and staff share the same goals and aims for the playgroup, the outcome is a positive, caring environment in which your child can grow in confidence. They learn from new and exciting experiences and are able to reach their full potential.

We also encourage parents to take part in their child's learning by offering chances to get to know more about how, why and what the children learn. We do this through:

Open Mornings – for you to look at and contribute to your child's EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Record of Learning & Development

Home / School Diaries – Help us to find out more about your child and what they get up to outside of the playgroup setting. This enables us to include their interests in our activity plans.

'Take 5' – Occasionally take 5 minutes at drop-off to do an activity with your child at Play People Parent Questionnaires – Feedback from yourselves in order to improve our provision

Children's Learning Journeys – Parents have free access to their Children's Developmental Records at any time.

Skills, Ideas and Suggestions – We encourage parents to share their ideas and suggestions for activities and experiences. We welcome any skills that you have that the children could benefit from.
